Asserting dominance

Quotes have power: this much is undeniable. Think of any cool movie that begins with a quote, such as Kill Bill:

Speaking of Tarantino (of whom I'm a huge fan), let me remind you how he began his first feature-length movie: the gang is sitting around a table, although we don't see them yet, we only hear Mr. Brown (played by Tarantino) saying

Let me tell you what 'Like a Virgin' is about.
It's all about a girl who digs a guy with a big dick.

Now that's big dick energy.
Is it a quote? Well, technically not, but is it highly quotable, hence becoming a 'quote' in and of itself? Hell yes!

Let's jump to our next example:

War. War never changes.  

These words, in this very specific order should remind everyone of the nuclear wasteland presented in the Fallout series and the seemingly inevitable end of our civilization as we know it. However, these are not the first words in that intro; besides the usual studio logo and the Vault Tech tv advertisement, the first real in-universe line is this:

What a powerful line it is, followed immediately by the image of a soldier in power armor standing proudly in front of the America(fuck yeah!)n flag, because of course.

I believe that these examples are more than enough to drive my point home, which is this:

Cool people always quote themselves.
