Over the hedges? No. Maybe under the bushes? No. Garden's clear. Time to move on. It was quiet in Hiper Park when the sounds first came. They were indecipherable, yet their patterns strongly resembled human speech. The sounds speak. No, talk. Voices talk. The sounds are voices. Yuri covered her ears, then move her hands away in quick succession; the crumbling of leaves and the creaking of old wooden frames went away, yet some of the noise remained. I gotta go. She stood up, jumped over the fence, grabbed the first rock she saw and broke a small window to climb into the house.
What a strange place, she thought as she glanced around. The room had a four poster bed, its sides covered by brilliant pink curtains, its sheets are even brighter pink. On her side was a cupboard and a large mirror on one of its doors. Yuri saw her reflection before, but never this clean. Is that me? All were forgotten, the sounds, the running, the impending doom, her father, her duties, they were all part of a distant past. She stepped forth and moved, the image following suit. Her rags were loose and did not do any justice to her true form. I wonder how he would see me. With a single swift move, she cast the dirty fabric aside and looked at her strange new body. She touched her face, realizing that the small nose she was familiar with seemed bigger, her famously green eyes appeared darker than she imagined and her straight blonde hair, which she had cut above her shoulders, was messy and brown. Yuri move her hands behind her back and tugged on the hair that never was. To her horror, she saw her reflection's head to be pulled back, its chin darting upwards, yet she kept facing it. That's not me. Fear lurked inside her head along with the voices that became clearer and closer and closer and closer and closer. "You don't belong".
